Mr. McCarty is a Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator and is Board Certified in Real Estate Law by The Florida Bar.

Mr. McCarty is a member of The Florida Bar. Past admissions include the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association and served as President from 2011-2012.

He has served as a member of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee, including as Chairperson.

Mr. McCarty has an extensive amount of professional experience in the legal, corporate and academic fields. He has practiced law in Florida for more than 30 years, representing a broad range of  corporate clients and business entities. Previously, he served as shareholder, director and president     of McCarty, Naim, Focks & Keeter P.A., a respected law firm in Gainesville and worked at several other prominent law firms throughout the state.

Upon graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and an Associate of Arts, Mr. McCarty earned his Juris Doctorate and a Masters in Business Administration (Phi Kappa Phi) from the University of Florida. In addition, he participated in Post-Baccalaureate German Studies at Friedrich-Wilhelms Universitat in Bonn, Germany.
