Shaina Van Mehren, Esq.

Shaina Van Mehren is an Associate Attorney in the firm’s Community Association Division.

Shaina brings a wealth of diverse legal experience to her current role. A South Florida native, Shaina was born and raised in the area, attending local colleges for both her undergraduate and law degrees. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Florida Atlantic University, her Juris Doctorate from Florida International University College of Law, and an LLM in Taxation from the University of Miami School of Law.

While Shaina initially was interested in Tax Law during her legal studies, her career path took a dynamic turn after passing the Florida Bar. She began her legal career in civil litigation, handling a variety of cases, including family law, foreclosure defense, probate, and intellectual property disputes. Over time, her passion for tax law led her to pursue her LLM in Taxation and subsequently practicing in estate planning, which broadened her understanding of complex financial matters.

Shaina’s evolving expertise in tax law, estate planning, and civil litigation has naturally transitioned into her current focus on community association law. Her background enables her to provide comprehensive legal counsel to community associations, offering strategic advice on governance, compliance, and dispute resolution. Through her diverse experience, Shaina has developed a deep understanding of the legal needs of community associations, making her a trusted advisor in this specialized field.
